Clinico-pathological features and surgical management of multinodular goitre

Background: Enlargement of thyroid gland is the most common manifestation disease. Most patients come from endemic zones. This study was designed to various aspects clinicopathological presentations multinodular goitre and their optimal surgical management. Methods: a prospective observational 50 cases with an adequate follow up look for epidemiological parameters such as clinical presentation, pathological behaviour modality management including post operative complications over period 02 years. Results: Females were predominant in number males sex ratio 24:1. FNAC done all found be 100% accurate. Majority treated total thyroidectomy (56%), followed by hemithyroidectomy (44%). Complications included wound infection (4%) seroma formation (4%). Conclusions: Multi nodular more females majority are age group 31-39 The chief complaint swelling front neck few pressure symptoms. invaluable, minimally invasive, highly accurate cost-effective procedure preoperative diagnosis goitre. main indication surgery MNG cosmetic problem ideal treatment minimal complications.
